(Canadian) Church That Opposed Gay Unions Ordered Closed

A British Columbia Anglican church has been ordered closed in the latest skirmish over the blessings of same-sex unions. Holy Cross Church in Abbotsford has been involved in a running feud with Bishop Michael Ingham ever since the archdiocese last year voted to permit the blessing ceremonies.

In all, eight parishes are opposed to the blessings and have asked to be removed from the diocese and administered by another bishop. Holy Cross went one step further by declaring itself independent and refusing to submit money to the diocese.

Ronald Harrison, executive archdeacon of the Diocese of New Westminster said Holy Cross brought the closure upon itself by seeking episcopal oversight from another bishop.

So lets see...the push for marriage has caused a backlash that will probably result in the defense of marriage act. Whats next? Reducing my vote to 1/3? Seperate water fountains? Or will people wake up and cast off there hate and embrace us? I have to say, at this moment, I'm not optomistic!
