Kucinich Presses U.N. Involvement in Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031223/ap_on_el_pr/kucinich_iraq&cid=694&ncid=1480

MESILLA, N.M. - Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich (news - web sites) said Tuesday the United States needs the United Nations (news - web sites) to develop a constitution for Iraq (news - web sites) and warned that America cannot be the only nation calling the shots to rebuild the country.

"We must give up the ambition of operating the country of Iraq by remote control, and when we do that, we'll take another step in developing a new constitution and governance in Iraq," Kucinich told about 150 supporters at a rally. "We must renounce any interest in the privatization of Iraq."

The Ohio congressman said a policy of taking over in other countries makes the United States less safe because other countries will take a more active approach to protect their borders.

"My presidency will be about working with the world community, will be about the need for focusing on the need for peace and getting rid of all nuclear weapons," he said.

2. "We must renounce any interest in the privatization of Iraq."
It's so sad that a commonsense like Kucinich's is so uncommon in US politics.

The other candidates have their strengths, but Dennis has the vision.

4. Kucinich has the courage to keep speaking out against the war.

While others have waffled and equivocated as they study the polls to see how best to gain votes, Dennis Kucinich keeps speaking truth to power on all the issues. It is scandalous that he receives so little support from Democrats who call themselves liberals. We are witnessing the last days of a two-party system in this country. We might as well have only one party with two geographical regions that compete against each other and turn the whole thing into a Super Bowl of Politics. It's a sad state of affairs.

5. I love Dennis Kucinich
he is a real person-- with enough energy to go around the world three times. I just love this man and am sad that he has not been able to ratchet up the necessary money by the millions, to be a front runner. That does not take anything away from him, imo. It might even be a plus. :-)

6. Man, I missed it.
We have been begging him to come to the southern part of the state, he has so many supporters down here, and here he is, and I missed it.Been so busy moving and taking care of my abcessed tooth that I have been out of it.And have been going over 200 miles one way to see DK!!

Everyone likes to talk about his "vision," but here is a solid workable PLAN that will get us out of Iraq, will be approved by the world and restore a bit of the world's good will toward us, and give the Iraqis control of their own resources and their own government.NOBODY ELSE HAS SUCH AN INNOVATIVE BUT WORKABLE PRACTICAL COMMON SENSE PLAN!!

No pie-in-the-sky for DK. Visionary but practical.
