John Kerry pledges not to make John Ashcroft his Att'y Gen.
I swear to God. Kerry said it. It's on his blog.

"This is yet one more reason (Plame affair)I pledge to appoint as my Attorney General a person whose name is not John Ashcroft. It is time to end the culture of leaks and lies at the Justice Department. President Bush promised America an agency free from political influence. He has failed to live up to that promise. America should hold him accountable."

2. an obvious question
Who in a new administration would make him their Attorney General? Geez - no brainer there.

This reminds me of the Onion's report on Patrick Buchanan's attempt to woo the gay vote: "I promise not to incinerate you."

3. The Real Tragedy Here
Edited on Wed Dec-31-03 07:55 AM by Justice
Is that Kerry was making an important statement about the importance of finding those responsible for outing a CIA agent.

Rather than focus on the serious of the issue, this thread chooses instead to go negative on Kerry. Ah, and they complain about being/ going negative on Dean.

Really Tragic.

Edited to correct grammer

12. I Have A Sense Of Humor

which is how I know it is not funny. Kerry is not my first choice, but frankly this stupid stuff is what the media does - they focus not on the real story but on the irrelevant line in the story.

Rather than discuss this development, and the fact that it is good that all Dem candidates are speaking out about it - the real "us" versus "them" -- you'd rather perpetuate what the media does, and make Kerry's statement about Ashcroft the story.

And, if someone did it to Dean's statement - you'd be yelling and posting and hollering up a storm.

13. Would be laughing at Dean too.
This is funny stuff.

To be honest... I'm pretty sure once he gets a cup of coffee in him, Sen. Kerry will be laughing about it, too. If he's really smart about it, he'll score some points with voters and list a few more he pledges not to appoint.

Really? How about James Baker?

This is like someone walking up to me in a store and saying "I'm not going to mug you". I'd already assumed that to be the case.
