CT Pull Lever Voting Machines from Elections
Source: AP

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Lever voting machines that voters have used since the 1920s to elect officeholders in Connecticut are history.

Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal told municipal elections officials today that towns and cities may no longer use the lever machines in primaries set for September Eleventh, ending their use.

They will be replaced with optical scan voting machines that officials say provide a reliable paper trail.

...snip...

In addition, a state law enacted this year requires recounts in 10 percent of voting precincts statewide to confirm that the new voting technology works. Bysiewicz says there is no way to comply with state law using the lever machines.

2. That's how we got the LAST set...
The lever machines we're using in NY were purchased from Florida when they retired them in favor of the state of the art Votomatic punch-card machines.....

3. I love our AG Blumenthal. He is a staunch pro choice and pro consumer
AG, always working for the people of CT. I wish he had run for governor as Jodi Rell is pretty much a nothing. He certainly has many supporters statewide and money (his wife's family owns the Empire State Building and they are also staunch supporters of liberal causes, including Planned Parenthood. I love their whole family.

4. How I miss New York
Don't know what the hell I am going to do here in Florida now. It really worries me that my vote will not be counted.

Maybe I will plan a trip to NY to visit my kids around election time. Absentee ballot?????

Is Steve Levy still fighting the scraping of the lever machines? I sure hope so.

5. Do what Ann Coulter did
She lives in New York, but illegally voted in Florida. Maybe some nice FBI man will speak out in your favor, too.
