NABLUS, West Bank - A large explosion rocked the West Bank city of Nablus Friday night in an area where the Israeli military has been operating, witnesses said. No casualties were immediately reported.

Witnesses said the Israeli army closed off the area, and emergency military vehicles rushed to the area. A helicopter hovered overhead.

The army has been conducting a series of raids in Nablus, a center of militant activity.

The evening of Dec 30 the IDF enterred Nablus and arrested 25. No word if this roadside bomb blast that hit a passing IDF jeep - but with no real injuries - is connected.
