Stolen Tanker Truck Recovered in D.C.

A tanker truck stolen by an armed robber early today in Baltimore was recovered nearly nine hours later in the District, authorities said.

Officer Troy Harris, a Baltimore police spokesman, said at about 1:50 pm. today that the tanker had been stopped at South Capitol Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Southeast Washington, just outside Bolling Air Force Base.

The driver was forced from the cab about 5 a.m. by a male with a semiautomatic handgun, according to Baltimore Police spokesman Sterling Clifford. The tanker was driven toward Interstate 95.

"At the moment, this is being investigated by the robbery division of the Baltimore Police Department," Clifford said earlier today. "No connection with terrorism has been identified. We're taking this seriously, all notifications have been made, but this appears to be a robbery."

Gas prices are high I suppose.
This guy, hi-jacks a tanker truck with a bright red cab and a big silver tanker,
jumps on I-95 and drives around in the wee hours of the morning,
yet it takes the cops Nine hours to find him?
A check of that address on google earth shows that Malcolm x Blvd
and south Capitol street intersect about a half mile from the DIAC
on Holling air force base.
Googled DIAC, which stands for Defense Intelligence Analysis Center, and so far
have come up blank. (some interesting stuff about diodes though)
This incident also garnered an alert from the DOH although the MSM
says its not terror related in any way.

Tin hat time? perhaps.
maybe Cheneys way of letting em know he doesn't like the "analysis"
thats coming out of the DIAC?
More likely just a criminal trying to make a few bucks.

If diesel is going for a little over $3.00 thats only $21,000 worth of profit if no middle-men, storage or other costs are involved.
