X-Ray prisoners told of Iraq war
http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,8356930%255E1702,00.html

DEPRIVED of most world news since their capture, some of the hundreds of prisoners at this US base expressed shock when told recently of the capture of Saddam Hussein, a US general said today.

Interrogators told some detainees of the war in Iraq in June, and word of Saddam's capture reached others during interrogations in December, Major General Geoffrey Miller told reporters in an interview.
The entire prison population was later informed of Saddam's capture by loudspeaker after officials determined there was no risk to security or intelligence-gathering, Miller said, without specifying the date.
"We told them we had a war with Iraq, we told them the United States won, and we told them we captured Saddam Hussein," Miller said. "There was some shock."

What probably wasn’t said, is that it was an illegal war, it’s a quagmire with 500+ American killed and thousands injured….not to mention the unknown figure of Iraqis killed and injured….

8. Don't ALL aircraft carriers have professional banner printing equipment?
I mean.. that sign was their doing. And it's obviously very professional... the White House CERTAINLY had NOTHING to do with THAT.. now did they? Duh. The fact that they aligned that damn podium with that ridiculous banner says it all.

2. My thoughts exactly.
Did they mention that it's not over, that we lied to the entire population of the world to get there, and that we are now hated by most of the rest of the world?

9. Unless you count "non-combat" injuries too (10000+)
I suppose that would include suicide attempts

5.  I love a good solid news story.

An anonymous US general said that some unspecific number of invisible people "expressed shock"....

I hear tell that there was a Chihuahua in Fargo, North Dakota, that barked three times then spontaneously burst into flames when the news was first broadcast.

7. The actual Al Queda among the prisoners were in shock
Wandering around, wondering "why would the U.S. get rid of our hated enemy Saddam Hussein?"

10. Yep, we won
That helicopter shot down today, where 9 more US troops lost their lives, was just an accident. An Iraqi, still in shock from the joy of the US-led invas...., er "freedom bombing" of Iraq, fired his RPG in the air to celebrate but it accidentally went astray and hit the helicopter. He later apologized for his little goof to the troops that arrived on the scene, they all sat back and drank some soda, and had a good laugh over the whole thing. OOOPS!!!

11. How can we ever find out what the real total is?
Families have no way of knowing what the real total is and the BCF are not going to tell the truth. What if it's more like thousands of Americans are dead would we ever know the true count?
