Indonesian volcano 'has erupted'

Indonesia's Mount Kelud volcano appears to have erupted, a top official has said, based on seismographic signals.
An estimated 350,000 people live within 10km (6 miles) of the volcano on the island of Java, about 90km (55 miles) south-west of the city of Surabaya.

There were no immediate reports of casualties and the area is shrouded in fog, blocking the view of the volcano.

A volcanologist said escalating tremors indicated the first eruption was at 1615 local time (0915 GMT).

on your memory. Yes - I recall it too. When those were first shown back in the late sixties they were "must watch" weekly viewing. I never been quite sure of the extent to which an appreciation of our sense of humour here is shared elsewhere. Here's some other stuff even earlier - 1965 : Peter Cook and the dimunitive Dudley Moore in a BBC series called Not Only But Also - sadly the BBC destroyed most of the tapes when they had a clearout years ago.
