Liberty University student sentenced for homemade bombs (Falwell funeral)

A Liberty University student will spend two years in prison for possessing a homemade bomb. Mark David Uhl was sentenced this morning in federal court in Lynchburg.

Uhl was arrested the night before Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral in May. Acting on a tip from Uhl's family, investigators found four homemade bombs in the trunk of his car. Over the summer, he pled guilty to a single count of possessing an explosive device.

At today's sentencing, Judge Norman Moon said Uhl's actions were "absolutely intolerable." Prosecutors said there was no indication he ever intended to use the devices against anyone.

He just wanted to drive around with bombs in his trunk because it gave him a warm, cozy feeling every time he heard them bump against the spare tire.

6. Well, he's white and Christian
Those are obviously mitigating circumstances in bomb cases. :sarcasm:

8. It was only a bomb. If it was over 1/2 oz. of herb, he could of gotten
10 years.

Of course, common sense tells us that marijuana smokers are so much more dangerous than people that make bombs.
