Bush criticizes Democrats over Iraq war funds

By Caren Bohan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With Congress and the White House engaged in a long-running feud over war funds, President George W. Bush criticized Democrats on Saturday for holding up money he requested for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Bush is seeking $196 billion for the wars for the fiscal year beginning October 1. Democrats who control Congress want to attach a troop pullout plan to the funding bill for the war but lack enough votes to pass the measure in the Senate.

The White House has warned that Bush would veto any bill with such conditions.

In his weekly radio address, Bush said Congress was "failing to meet its responsibilities to our troops."

"For months, Congress has delayed action on supplemental war funding because some in Congress want to make a political statement about the war," he said, criticizing Democrats for leaving for their Thanksgiving break without approving the war funds.......

3. "make a political statement about the war"
No, they want to make a political statement about PEACE, about HUMAN INTEREST, and about the craziness of attacking another country in order to "make the wealthy wealthier".

4. Why is there "Supplemental War Funding"?
Why has the "War on Terror" been off budget for six years? We are running huge record deficits with what is on the budget yet for some reason it is allowed to have this special funding be off budget and not registered as additional deficit...Stop It....just STOP IT...

5. Gates has warned that without a cash infusion, he would soon make plans to lay off civilian employee
terminate contracts and cut base operations.

But Democrats said Gates told them the money crunch was months away.

translation;
Congress is months away from flip flopping on thier stand is what that statement actually means.

You really think they are going to lay off workers in the US military industrial defense complex ?
;)
think again.

Some of them may lose voters in the home district. Polls will indicate that taking a hot button topic stand will hurt them

7. Did he stamp his little feet?
I hope I didn't miss the dramatic throwing himself on the floor. I know it's supposed to be important not to laugh at his antics, but it's just so goddam funny, you know?

9. This man...
...is absolutely out of it.
He has spent us into a situation that our great grandchildren will suffer for and he actually blames someone else.
Of course, he never did take responsibility for anything. He always lied his way through life. Nothing is different except that he has a wider audience that can view him for what he is.

How can honest Republicans (an oxymoron?) sit by and allow this man to actually blame others for his horrible actions?
