bless lou dobbs -- he's practically spitting out the latest jobs numbers and the report is completely sympathetic to a labor perspective.

14. Specifically, Steve Shepard, managing editor of Business Week |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 07:23 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
Shepard was the one who kept throwing things at Lou like "If you were more optimistic" to which he replied "I am a VERY optimistic person, BUT..." Shepard also was the one who came out with the pearl of wisdom that probably made BushCo wet its collective pants with glee: "You can't just look at one number and have that tell the whole story. There are winners and there are losers." Winners = Carly Fiorina, Michael Dell, Bill Gates, John Chambers (who exercised his stock options at the end of last year and had a $33 million pay day) etc. etc. etc. Losers = whoever is left after the list of CEOs is compiled. For those who might have missed it, perhaps the most famous addition to today's "Offshore List" was the supermarket chain Albertson's.

I just hoped it was Snow because it lead to my really bad pun. I did like the excerpt from Snow's text on supply side economics. Man, I miss Rubin. Just wait until we get our guy in there next year. Krugman for Treasury Secretary! :dem:

Did you catch the clip of Bush SR from 1989 talking about going to the moon again and to Mars? Whatever happened to that goal. Why don't they play that one on the so called liberal media whenever they talk about Bush II's new space goal. Oh, those new jobs were filled by illegal aliens, Americans don't want to work you know.

15. I used to hate on Lou Dobbs just like a lot of other DUers |
|
Then he started his reports about Exporting America and it seems his whole attitude and focus changed. I think the reports woke him and a lot of other Americans up to what is really happening to our country. His interviews of administration officials have been absolutely priceless. And CNN replays his program at 11 EST so you can catch him later on if you happen to miss him at 6.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the rules of the Latest Breaking News forum before posting here. There's a link to the LBN rules at the top of the forum. Thanks.
