"Roberts says God forced his resignation"
Source: AP

TULSA, Okla. - Richard Roberts told students at Oral Roberts University Wednesday that he did not want to resign as president of the scandal-plagued evangelical school, but he did so because God insisted.

God told him on Thanksgiving that he should resign the next day, Roberts told students in the university's chapel.

"Every ounce of my flesh said 'no'" to the idea, Roberts said, but he prayed over the decision with his wife and his father, Oral Roberts, and decided to step down.

Roberts said he wanted to "strike out" against the people who were persecuting him, and considered countersuing, but "the Lord said, 'don't do that,'" he said.

29. Oh you mean something extra special for his cheated flock?
So the man will call on his god to save his face for cheating? What kind of a statement is that? The miracle of life happens in every moment. Why would his flock want to be duped into believing that a distracting, out-of-this-world "miracle" will happen and make up for the harm done? I guess that kind of expectation is built into the belief system they uphold.

21. God, his lawyer, what's the difference?
Definitely the voice of a higher authority.

In defense of Roberts (yeah, I hear you), at least he didn't cling to his position like some other desperate jerks we could all name. Except for blaming God for his resignation, it's actually almost refreshing to see a conservative own up to his misdeeds and skedaddle with whatever honor he might still be able to scrape together.

33.  No he saw what Larry Flint is getting ready to serve up!
http://www.popcrunch.com/hustler-magazine-trent-lott-gay-sex-scandal/

Long time Mississippi senator Trent Lott resigned on Monday and a gay escort claims he knows exactly why. Gay prostitute Benjamin Nicholas claims he and Senator Lott have had a sexual affair.

But here’s a sample:

…His “stage name” is Benjamin Nicholas. One of the politicos Big Head DC has learned he’s alleged to have been involved with is the married Sen. Trent Lott, 66, who unexpectedly announced his retirement on Monday. Lott is well-known to have been against a plethora of gay rights issues throughout his terms in Congress. He was also good friends with Sen. Larry Craig throughout his time in Congress.

Nicholas told Big Head DC today via e-mail that he didn’t want to go on the record to talk about his dealings with Lott, because, said Nicholas, “Trent is going through his fair share of scrutiny right now and I don’t want to add to it.” However, e-mail and other records confirm that the two have met on at least two occasions.

“All I can say at this point is no comment,” Nicholas told us. “It’s the professional thing for me to do.”

I don't know...I'd be checking out a creator catalog - maybe he can order online.
