S.C. poll: Huckabee bolts to top of GOP; Obama cuts into Clinton lead
Source: CNN

(CNN) — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee surged to the top among
Republican presidential candidates in South Carolina, while Sen. Hillary
Clinton's lead over Sen. Barack Obama among Democrats narrowed since July in
that state, according to a new poll.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll of South Carolinians was
released Friday. It suggested the Democrats have a chance to carry South
Carolina for the first time in 32 years as Clinton was in a statistical dead
heat with the GOP front-runners in a hypothetical head-to-head contest.
Democrat voters ranked Iraq and health care as their main concerns, while
Republicans said the economy and immigration were the most important issues for
deciding how they'll vote for president.

1. Is Huckabee's popularity in SC really a surprise
Even if there are people in SC who believe in the Constitution, the majority of the Repukes are god fearing bigots for the most part.

Maybe they figure when Huckleberry Hound starts up his camps for peole with HIV, it'll bring more jobs to the area!!!!!

4. I didn't think there were many pro-rapist Republicans in S.C.
I guess I was wrong.

2. For the Heinlein crowd, remember Revolt in 2100?
From amazon - "a theocracy typified by brutal repression and backward-thinking. Heinlein provides some information about the three unwritten tales that would describe the rise to power of evangelist Nehemiah Scudder, the First Prophet who tore asunder the Constitution and set up a regime as repressive and backwards-thinking as anything from the Middle Ages."

Scudder was also an ah-shucks Nazi.
