Women report sex abuse by coworkers in Iraq
Source: Taiwan News

"A woman who claims she was raped by a fellow employee while working for a U.S. contractor in Iraq told House lawmakers that her case is far from unique.

"A Texas congressman agreed, saying several other women have come forward with reports of sexual harrassment while employed in Iraq for Halliburton's former subsidary, KBR.

"The women have give lawyers and Republican Representative Ted Poe accounts similar to the allegations of Jamie Leigh Jones of Conroe, Texas, who says she was raped in July 2005 by a co-worker who drugges her. She says she awoke groggy and confused the next morning, bleeding and bruised. She said a KBR representative kept her in a shipping container for a day so she would not report the assault."

2. This is just the tip fo the iceberg
We've been hearing for years about how women in the military have been raped and sexually abused by their fellow soldiers, so much so they were afraid to go to the latrine at night, in fear of being attacked. It's no wonder it is happening in these companies who are over there to make a profit, and have NO accountability under US law.

And for all those rape apologists who said that this young woman was lying about the attack, I'm sure they will just pooh-pooh these congressional hearings as well. After all, it's only women being attacked, right? :sarcasm:

5. I'm surprised
this story isn't getting more attention.

On the other hand, I'm not surprised.
