Dennis Kucinich In Nevada's Supreme Court 5pm EST With MSNBC Appeal
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 06:10 PM by orleans
Source: randi rhodes show/air america radio

BREAKING: randi's staff have been trying to get ahold of dennis and elizabeth on their private cell phones. someone just answered elizabeth's phone and told randi's staff that the reason dennis and elizabeth are not answering is because they are in the nevada's supreme court RIGHT NOW on that appeal msnbc filed to NOT LET dennis participate in the debate tonight.

UPDATE (on edit) randi announced at 5:50 est that elizabeth kucinich just called her and said the supreme court won't rule for ANOTHER HOUR.

No link yet.

this is reallly coming down to the wire as to whether or not dennis is going to appear at that debate! okay--actually i guess it will be 2 hours before debate time.

msnbc debate

but i just checked some links and msnbc had that up on their website 1 hour 20 minutes ago, and randi's staff talked to someone 30 minutes ago who said dennis and elizabeth is inside the supreme court--so no word on what the supreme court has ruled yet

3. So the NV Supremes must have finally scheduled a hearing?
Drat, I and others were hoping they'd just let MSNBC's appeal die for lack of them scheduling a hearing in time before debates.

hopefully they will see the wisdom of the American public being able to judge for themselves who is "electable" and who isn't.

16. From a post of mine earlier....
I simply can't believe that GE/MSNBC is appealing the decision to have Kucinich participate in tonight's debate. LET'S MAKE THEM REGRET THIS DECISION BY TELLING THE PUBLIC AND THE CEO THAT DEMOCRACY IS STRONGER THAN ANY CORPORATION OR CEO!!! MAKE GE APOLOGIZE!!!

Chairman and CEO of General Electric, Jeffrey R. Immelt. He is the one ultimately responsible for this decision.

Email GE Corporate HQ here:

https://www.ge.com/contact/contact_form.html

or call at 1-203-373-2211

Ask for Jeffrey Immelt.

Then ask him about his quote which is prominently displayed at the homepage of GE:

"I am out talking about this company seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with nothing to hide. We're a 129-year-old company that has a great record of high-quality leadership and a culture of integrity."

He said it, NOW CALL HIM ON IT!!!

Hit the phones and email as well....let's get GE's Immelt for trying to destroy our DEMOCRACY!!!

Thank you!

P.S. GE MAKES BUNDLES OF $$$ OFF OF WAR...SO I'M SURE JEFFREY DOESN'T WANT THE CITIZENS OF THE U.S. TO HEAR KUCINICH'S MESSAGE OF PEACE.

19. Their 129 year old company (NBC) was something. Now they are nearly nothing.
Olberman the exception.

NBC was bought by a war company.
NBC was bought by the Republican Party.
NBC is no longer a news source.
NBC is a propaganda arm of the Republican Party who act on behalf of the barons, foundations, reverends, and politicians and military who make the barons wishes happen.

NBC = NBCCNBCMSNBC = all GE.

To repeat - the were an honorable company. They sold out. We were subsequently sold.

Ny the way, did I say they believe we are stupid and infantile for believing that they are news and entertainment company. THey are not.

24. I can't bear to watch Brian Williams
anymore...it's just fluff and I get so aggravated so why bother? And The Today Show...how can anyone listen to that in the morning?

I remember Huntley and Brinkley...but Cronkite was my favorite. Now the only news I like is Amy Goodman at 'Democracy Now!'

18. confirmed from Missouri
Show Me The Vote !! volunteers have busy all day on this issue.

That NBC had appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court was confirmed as of 2:15 PM. Lawyers (and assuming the Kucinichs, also) were in court at the time of the phone call.

Call to NH SoS Gardner's Office was made at 2:52 PM EST confirming receipt of payment by Kucinich, or representatives thereof.

THE GAME IS ON !!

20. Corporations should only be able to own entertainment media.
They have proven that they absolutely cannot be trusted to provide unbiased, factual, and fair coverage of news and political. information.

22. The problem isn't with corporate ownership.
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 07:28 PM by pnwmom
A corporation is merely the legal set-up that some people use to do business. It affects tax structure, liability, etc. A one-woman consulting firm could be set up as a corporation, for example. (And often is.)

I think what most people really object to are GIANT corporations, huge conglomerates that stifle competition -- for example, a conglomerate that uses its news company to push for laws that will benefit its other companies.

We used to have effective anti-trust laws to prevent this kind of abuse, but they disappeared during the Reagan era. We need them back.

27. if that state supreme court doesn't rule by debate time
then i think the judge's ruling will stand

and if msnbc doesn't let kucinich up there i hope that judge gets an emergency whatever the fuck he needs and pulls the fucking plug

i'd like to see the debate ripped off the air if there is no ruling by that court within this hour

fucking media.

msnbc has been running a crawl during tweets show saying obama and edwards took their name off the michigan ballot. clinton is the only top-tiered candidate on the ballot! (they couldn't even say clinton, gravel and kucinich are on the ballot) ASSHOLES

SHIT!
OLBERMANN JUST SAID IT WAS RULED IN FAVOR OF MSNBC
