Pentagon: Satellite shootdown worked as planned

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon said Monday it has a "high degree of confidence" that the missile fired at a dead U.S. spy satellite in space destroyed the satellite's fuel tank as planned.

In spite of the political game this was part of with Russia and China, this is truly an amazing technological feat and a credit to the military.

3. They now actually have a "high degree of confidence"
that no evidence will ever emerge that they didn't shoot down the satellite, therefore they can continue to pretend that they did.

7. No doubt a great success for SIGINT as well.
The launching of an antisatellite missle undoubtedly caused much surveillance which undoubtedly was in turn the target of US interception.

It was undoubtedly the SIGINT equivalent to seismic-testing of rock formations.
