Adrenalin and Cortisol:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Demystifying_Depression:The_Stress_SystemAs someone who has personally suffered thru adrenal fatigue, it's good to see they are studying the obvious. Learning in Squirrels. Nice. (ok - I so I know it has implications and it's good they are looking at it - just wonder what "new" and $$ drug they will develop for the solution)
And I GUARANTEE that almost 100% of the PTSD vets (and probably 80% active) have some sort of adrenal fatigue (ie low cortisol, burned out adrenal glands). What is sad is that this was well known problem in the 1950s. The bible of adrenal fatigue / use of cortisol to treat a wide range of problems was written by Jefferies.
