Cheney disputes Iran's nuclear goals
Tehran is trying to enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels, he says. The allegation contradicts international findings.
By Borzou Daragahi, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
March 26, 2008

BEIRUT -- Vice President Dick Cheney charged in an interview released Tuesday that Iran is trying to develop weapons-grade uranium, though international inspectors and U.S. intelligence services have not found evidence of such an effort.

snip-
In its latest report, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations' nuclear watchdog agency, says Iran is enriching uranium at its plant in Natanz to less than 3.8%, which is the level necessary to create fuel for a civilian reactor. Weapons-grade uranium is enriched to 80% or 90%.

Cheney's comment also contradicted the assessment of U.S. intelligence agencies, which concluded in a report revealed late last year that Iran had halted its efforts to develop nuclear weapons in 2003.

The vice president's statement was the second time in a week that a White House official has made an allegation regarding Iran's nuclear program and its intentions that did not square with publicly known facts.

Mods,
I posted this article separately because it highlights the ways in which Cheney contradicts official conclusions. You can combine it if you will, but I thought it worth standing alone as a separate article. Peace.

11. Pelosi's (and others') reactions and actions are so strange I'm left with only two conclusions -
either a lot of these people were Republican plants from day one, or, they're being blackmailed by something horrible that years of illegal searches and wiretapping has revealed.

I just can't come up with anything more believable that would explain why the majority Dems won't use their own force added to the force of the people in this country to impeach The Dick and his bushpuppet and expose by investigations all that they have done.

Personally, even more than "taking impeachment off the table"... I'm furious at the lack of action to expose e-vote and tabulation holes and guarantee that my vote is counted accurately and available for recount. How can I get excited about any Democratic candidate when I know that a well-timed terror 'incident' plus e-voting will elect a Republican every time?

If I live long enough, I have no idea how I will explain this period in history to my grandkids.

12. Here, here.
They must have Pelosi's family, extended family, friends and acquaintances locked away in Dick Cheney's torture chamber with all of the waterboarding accoutrements in place, being stretched on a rack, inside of an iron maiden, being beaten by bull whips and tickled to death by feathers.

I mean, seriously, what the fuck do they have on the Nancy Disaster that would cause her to place herself in the same historical note as Judas Iscariot, Benedict Arnold and the Rosenbergs? Her name is forever, forever ruined.

2. But he is the decider as well!
He is actually the decider. Not Bush. And if anyone should have been impeached, it should have been Cheney. Bush hasn't the competence to decide anything on his own. Most psychiatrists in this country would willingly sign a commitment on him if they thought they could have it enforced by a court. Which of course they couldn't.

The real decider at this point, however, is Nancy Pelosi. Who decided these two spawns from hell would remain in office. Believing it served the political agenda of the Democratic Party which was more important to her than the will of the American people.

We are a shameful nation at this point. Far more shameful than Nazi Germany. Nancy Pelosi is merely one of Hitler's women. Along with Hillary Clinton. And god help us all if Hillary Clinton manages to become president.

8. I'm reading a book........
The Fall of the House of Bush by Craig Unger

The chapter I'm reading now is called The Birth of the Neocons. The mentor of Wolfowitz and Perle was Albert Wohlstetter. Wohlstetter was an analyst of The Rand Corporation and he helped them turn their ideas into reality in the political world.

Wohlstetter would not just do a study, he would give briefings on that study, perhaps hundreds of times. And one phrase from the book says......

"At times, his numbers were based on extremely inaaccurate intelligence, so it could be much less accurate than thought. It's a case of garbage in, garbage out. If the inputs are all screwed up, the results will be screwed up too."

It's a very good book. I've only just begun to read it but it's very interesting.

9. Let me know when you get to the "fall" part.
Cause I don't think they're hurting any from anything Jr. did. All they did was make big bucks for themselves and all their buddies plus, rumor has it, purchase all the land over one of the largest water aquifers in South America (which is probably where they plan to escape when the shit and the water shortages hit the fan).

13. I just remember what Biden said Pakistan is more of
a threat than Iran.

It is all about the oil, and the possibility of Iran switching to Euros.
