Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

Monday, April 21, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows John McCain leading both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton by an identical margin of 48% to 43%. While the topline results are the same, there are important differences in the way those results are obtained. Clinton does better among Democrats than Obama while Obama does better among unaffiliated voters. Among those not affiliated with either major party, McCain leads Obama by five and Clinton by sixteen. Daily tracking results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time (see recent daily general election results).

In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, on the eve of the Pennsylvania Primary, Obama leads Clinton nationally 47% to 42% (see recent daily Democratic Nomination results). Rasmussen Reports will release its final Pennsylvania Primary poll results at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. Nationally, the candidates are even among Democrats while Obama builds his advantage among Unaffiliated voters likely to participate in a Democratic Primary. Rasmussen Markets data gives Obama an 83.5% chance of winning the Democratic nomination.

Among all voters nationwide, McCain is viewed favorably by 52% and unfavorably by 44%. Obama’s ratings are 47% favorable and 51% unfavorable. For Clinton, those numbers are 44% favorable, 54% unfavorable (see recent daily favorable ratings).

1. I don't understand why this is even considered news
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 12:22 PM by Gman
Most states have had their primaries so what Democrats think nationally really doesn't matter. Only the states that haven't had primaries matter now. Everyone else has had their say.

OBamabots will argue that everyone in a state that hasn't had a primary should vote with the national opinion because Obama deserves it. Just like they want superdelegates to do.

2. "Obamabots"
Can we cut that shit out yet?

I'm watching FoxNews and they are showing some poll where about 35% of Hillary supporters would vote for McCain in the GE over Obama if he gets the nom. The all conservative panel is practically having an orgasm at the thought of it. Im just going to start posting the pictures of dead American soldiers in every thread where people are having a hissy fit because their side didnt win. That way you get your fucking priorities straight and remember what this election is really about..

3. How Can We Turn This Around?
This dreadful primary race has driven Obama's once-low negatives through the roof, and Hillary Clinton's have gone even higher.

McCain is getting a free ride just like he always does, and is beating both our candidates by 5%. And an armada of Swift Boats is just starting to set sail.

It's looking grim for the general election unless we can find some way to turn this around.

4. Never Trust Rasmussen
Their polls always, and I do mean always, skew to the person with the most pro-Israel position(s).
