Olmert coalition ally demands he step aside

By Jeffrey Heller

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak
called on Wednesday for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to step
aside or face the collapse of his coalition and an early
election after damaging allegations of corruption.

A day after an American businessman told an Israeli court

2. Wonder if Barak is having second thoughts about starting WWIII
with the US against Iran?

4. I'm sure Barak doesn't want WWIII...
Israel would be one of the first countries to be destroyed along with Iran. They have been calling for economic sanctions on Iran, not war.

However, it would NOT be a good thing for any prospects of Middle East peace if Netanyahyu gets to be PM (shudder); and I very much hope that Barak or some other relatively moderate individual gets the job if Olmert goes.
