Pentagon 'urged notes destroyed'
Source: BBC

Guantanamo Bay interrogators were told to destroy handwritten notes in case they were called to testify on detainee treatment, a military lawyer alleges.

The lawyer, Lt-Cmdr William Kuebler, said the instructions were contained in a Pentagon operations manual.

He said this apparent destruction of evidence at the prison camp stopped him from challenging alleged confessions in the case of his client, Omar Khadr.

The lawyer said the evidence was crucial to the case as prosecutors were relying on evidence extracted at Afghanistan's Bagram air base and Guantanamo.

1. After McClellan's revelations they all hung their talking heads dutifully
and admitted they didn't do their job.

And it was all for show, because they're still not doing it.

2. Well, once you do away with the Constitution
You can say the accused said or did any damn thing you want to say he said or did. It's not like any of these guys are going to have the right to a speedy trial, or examine the evidence against them, or cross-examine the secret witnesses and testimony presented.

Refresh my memory: Do military officers take an oath to defend the current administration or the Constitution? Because some of our military's finest seem a mite confused about where their loyalties are supposed to lie. It's a curiosity to me that with so few folks in the Bush administration having actually served, they seem intimately familiar with the sort of ribbon-hungry decoration hounds who will do anything to advance their military careers, even if it means subverting the Constitution and betraying America.

3. Aren't 'corporate media hacks'
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 11:00 AM by SimpleTrend
working for shell corporations that are really part of the government, a way for them to appear privatized but for control and authority to still be exerted. Oh, wait, it's more like they're cousins. "The Owners" are the Top 400 families, and they own both government and corporate. It's pretended that there's a wall between them.
