Blackwater training decision delayed in N. Idaho

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — A plan by Blackwater Worldwide to provide space and instruction to police, sheriff's deputies and other enforcement personnel with a facility in northern Idaho has been delayed.

The Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training Council on Thursday voted to table the plan because it didn't have enough information.

Blackwater representatives at the meeting didn't speak.

Protesters outside the hotel where the meeting was held displayed signs as regional law enforcement officials arrived.

The proposed complex in northern Idaho would include an emergency vehicle operation course, shooting ranges, classrooms, dormitories for at least 80 people, a cafeteria and administration buildings.

My mom's cousin was an ID highway patrolman, down near boise, and he retired to Northern ID. I will admit, he took up raising gladiolus in his retirement, but I still wonder WTF was up with him, and was he secretly a NUT?
