(CNN) -- Ten people, including nine members of a medical team, were killed in the crash of a small plane at an airport in the southeastern Utah town of Moab, authorities said Saturday.

The crash occurred about 5:55 p.m. (7:55 p.m. ET) Friday as the plane was taking off from Moab's Canyonlands Air Field, Grand County Sheriff Jim Nyland said.

The victims were all from Cedar City, Utah, Nyland said. 1. That's just awful...
It sounds like a lot of talented, very giving people were on that plane.

A friend of mine lost her husband in a plane crash a year ago. She was left
with four children under the age of 8, and she was 8 months pregnant during the time
of the crash. Any death is devastating, but there is a unique pain when a loved
one dies in a plane crash.

My heart goes out to these family members. They can all be proud of the wonderful work
their loved ones devoted their lives to.
