Colo. elections chief quits as critical vote nears
Source: Examiner

The top elections official in the Colorado secretary of state's office has resigned less than two months before the critical Nov. 4 election.

Director of Elections Holly Lowder resigned Thursday. Secretary of state spokesman Richard Coolidge declined to say why, and Lowder had no listed phone number.

Colorado's vote could be enough to swing a close presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain.

The ballot will be a long one, with 18 initiatives, a U.S. Senate seat and all seven Colorado congressional seats, and the state is using a new voter registration system.

3. Oh Well - Get Someone More Qualified ....
June 1 -- Holly Lowder is Colorado's new Elections Director. She just resigned from her job as Alamosa County Clerk and Recorder where she was appointed in 1981.

Alamosa County has fewer than 7,000 active voters. As of January 13, 2006, Colorado had 2,327,239 active voters.

We are very concerned that Ms Lowder's background does not appear to include technical experience.

9. They can't pull another theft in Ohio, so set their sights on Pennsylvania since 2005.

14. Like Rendell hasn't already said that Hillary's ready to run again. Or did you miss that?
Rendell is a powerstructure Dem. You are welcome to believe he's a straight up Dem, but, I have witnessed him for years playing the Clinton game - his loyalties have been suspect long before Obama's candidacy.

19. No. I think he won't lift a finger...either way...just like McAuliffe from 2001 thru 2004.
Rendell won't see a thing because ignorance is bliss and keeps you from being responsible, too.

10. There were stories after 2004 from some Colorado Dems certain Colorado was stolen, too.
Many of us Dems in NC are certain that this state was stolen, too.

Suit: Ban computer voting
Attorney fears fraud, says state 'headed for train wreck' in Nov.
Ann Imse, Rocky Mountain News
Friday, September 15, 2006

Voting on computer screens is so vulnerable to massive fraud that Colorado's November election is "headed for a train wreck," says an attorney who is seeking to have the equipment barred at trial next week.

An expert would need just 2 minutes to reprogram and distort votes on a Diebold, one of four brands of computerized voting systems attacked in the suit, says attorney Paul Hultin. His firm, Wheeler Trigg Kennedy, has taken on the case pro bono for a group of 13 citizens of various political stripes.

And he's not the only one alarmed as details of the case spread this week.

The Colorado Democratic Party on Thursday urged all voters to cast absentee ballots for the November election to avoid potential fraud, after a key state official said in a deposition that he certified the computer voting equipment even though he has no college education in computer science and did little security testing.
