Subpoenaed witnesses may face criminal prosecutionSenator Hollis French, the representative in charge of managing Troopergate, speaks out after weeks of silence. The Mccain-Palin truth squad said the investigation of Troopergate is politically biased, citing last weekends rally as proof.

According to the "truth squad" if there was any doubt that politics is at the heart of Troopergate, that doubt was dispelled by what they called an Obama rally held Saturday.

The person in charge of overseeing the Troopergate investigation replied to the "truth squad's" statement saying,"not true." French said he's really just trying to get to the bottom of what happened, get the truth out, and let the facts stand or fall at their own strengths.

McCain-Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton said,"This investigation is no longer the unbiased inquiry at arms length from politics that Alaskans were promised. This is political theater intended to score points for the campaign for Barack Obama."

The truth squad argued that French raised questions of the legitimacy of the inquiry when he appeared at the senate judiciary committee without giving notice to the rest of the committee

Judge to decide whether to block 'Troopergate' investigation

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A judge will hear arguments this week on whether he should halt an abuse-of-power investigation by the state Legislature into Gov. Sarah Palin.

Anchorage Superior Court Judge Peter Michalski has scheduled a hearing for Thursday in the lawsuit filed by five Republican lawmakers.

The legislators want to block the Legislative Council's investigation into whether Palin acted improperly when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan this summer. Palin denies she pressured Monegan to fire a state trooper who had gone through a bitter divorce with her sister.
