The U.S. military says the Khalaf family was caught in the crossfire as troops fired at a suspect in a poor district of Bayji, a city about 145 miles north of Baghdad. Khalaf, 15, and her relatives told The Associated Press in extensive interviews that they were the only target in the May 30 attack.

That's what's really pissing me off. It makes us all complicit, it's our money financing these crimes.

I really don't want my government using my money to kill innocent people in a country that never threatened us.

I used to believe that the US stood for doing the right thing. I always thought that we could be relied on to take the high road when it came to fighting and treating civilians and enemies. Not any more.
