Palin, other US governors sent suspicious powder: FBI
Source: AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate, and seven other US governors have received letters with a suspicious white powder, according to the FBI.

Since Monday, "at least eight letters containing a suspicious white powder have been received by the offices of governors around the country," Robert Casey, special agent in charge for the FBI in Dallas, said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

"The white powder substance has been field screened and the tests have met with negative results. The white powder substance has been forwarded to local laboratories for further testing," the statement said.

The letters, all postmarked from Dallas, Texas, were sent to governors' offices in Rhode Island, Michigan, Mississippi, Alabama, Minnesota, Montana, Missouri as well as Alaska, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

1. Man, did I misread that headline!
I thought at first it meant that Palin and some others SENT the suspicious powder!

A headline without context is a dangerous thing in the hands of an idiot!

17. That's okay.. I read it that Palin was saying that other govs sent her white powder first...
then I read that Palin and other govs had sent white powder.

Palin may be nuts but I didn't think she was quite that nuts so I figured I'd better actually read the article so at least now it makes sense now. I guess I really need to have more coffee. more sleep or both. :hangover:

Another news link I saw on DU said that it was actually **addressed** to her predecessor.
Guess the news people are still trying to milk Palin's name in their headlines.

BTW, add TX to the the list..Perry got one this week, also, per Dallas Morning News.

11. NOBODY should
open her mail, test her food, or answer her phone for her.

Besides, she's used to all that white powder from the days of doin' blow with the boys at the "Green Triangle" bar in Pocatello, Idaho back in the 1980's.

OOoooo, white powder! :eyes:

Sorry, but it's a non-story for me. There was a big scare in 2001 when a "suspicious white powder" was spilled at a Columbus department store...at the make-up counter...shut down a shopping center...for...powder.

Tell me someone got a real threat and I'll show some concern. Until then :boring:
