Supreme Court won't review Obama's eligibility to serve (again)
Source: USA Today/AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has turned down another challenge to Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president because of his citizenship.

The appeal by Cort Wrotnowski of Greenwich, Conn., was denied Monday without comment.

Wrotnowski argued that Obama was a British subject at birth and therefore cannot meet the requirement for becoming president.

He wanted the high court to halt presidential electors from meeting to formally elect Obama as president.

1. Oh, for Christ's sake, will these fucking
anti-American racist nutballs ever go the fuck away? Good gravy. And how in the hell would he be a "British subject" at birth when he was born in Hawaii and his mother was American? God, these people are so fucking stupid. He's already produced his BC time and time again. These anti-American racist fuckers just can't accept that. Maybe if they had more than two brain cells they might be able to do so.

Yes, Obama and his family conspired from his birth and all journalists, the entire state of Hawaii and everyone he dealt with while growing up and in adult life are ALL in on the conspiracy. Sheesh, fucking nutballs.

5. He was a British citizen at birth; but that changed to Kenyan citizen at independence
2 years later, and then he lost that at age 21 when he didn't actively take it up (Kenya didn't allow dual citizenship for adults) - see http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/does_barack_obama_have_kenyan_citizenship.html .

Through all that time, he was always an American natural-born citizen. The constitution says nothing about it having to be sole American citizenship, so there's no problem.

19. amazing how pro-defense RWers think kenyan law magically passes round the world
and blows right pearl harbor and into the mind of young Barack Obama. That's SOME powerful law! ;) Same with British -- these things stop at our border unless a citizen affirmative decides to affirm them.

24. No, they will never go away
This is a conscious, orchestrated effort to waste a lot of time and governmental resources on non-issues. And as an added bonus, we will get to hear Very Serious Media Commentators intone that "questions still linger" about these Very Important Non-Issues. And these questions will require enough attention that they will crowd out reporting on things like, oh I don't know, a Senate report that has evidence that authorization for the program of torture and murder of detainees went right into the Bush White House. We won't have time to report on that, because the Very Important Non-Issues have captured the little minds who bring us the "news."

So these chuckleheads will never go away.

2. This is the first presidential election that I can remember
that so much time and money was wasted after the election, to support a crazy, irrational, make-believe idea floated by the losing party.

Republicons will believe anything.

4. Very many old people born in the US do not have a birth
certificate because they were not born in a hospital. When most of us lived on the farm we did not have the time to make it to a hospital. Up to now we were considered US citizens.

12. Obama has a birth certificate which has been examined and found to be genuine.
This is all just a bunch of nonsense by people panicked at the thought of a Democrat in the White House.

17. and it wouldn't matter if he WERE born in Kenya. (False alternative)
the constitution has two and only two classes;

1. BORN citizens

and

2. ADOPTED citizens (aka naturalized citizens "at time of adoption of constitution")

OBama's been a citizen since birth, never naturalized with a class, an oath, etc.

THey are simply trying to read in racist xenophobic intent into the word "natural" so as to make obama and others "unnatural" born citizens or somesuch.

Since the COnstitution divides all citizens into two types, they can not make up a third type

8. The Court needs to issue a blanket statement that it will not entertain ANY submissions related to
the birth of Barack Obama, that the presumption that he is not a US citizen is absurd. End of story.

9. That would be an advisory opinion. The SCOTUS decided long ago that it has no power to
issue advisory opinions.

25. Hell, for all we know, those two
unconstitutional idiots may have voted FOR hearing the case! I wouldn't be surprised at all, considering those two. I'm in the legal field and you wouldn't believe with what low esteem they're held, with damn good reason.

20. If I ever get crazy enough to run for president, someone remind me...
... that I was actually BORN in Indonesia (albeit of American parents), and would be called some Al Queda offspring there by these whack jobs... I'm glad I don't have such goals!

21. Doesn't matter if you have been an american citizen since birth
there's only two classes, born citizens and naturalized (adoptive citizens) and I take you were not adopted or didn't choose to become a citizen of this country in later life.

22. I had the option to become an Indonesian citizen up until I became an adult...
That was the way it was explained to me earlier. But yes, I was born an American, but I've had varying explanations of whether I could or couldn't run for president. I'm probably pretty close to what McCain is, but then again, Indonesia wasn't arguably a colony/territory of the U.S. like Panama (or at least part of Panama) was earlier when McCain was born there. And I'm sure whether I was entitled to run or not, that someone in the right wing would challenge me on it.

BTW, Land Shark, I think I'm closer to you now than when I was in San Diego when we last met. I'm up in Portland, Oregon now. Stranded albeit in the snow at the moment.
