Cheney: Obama should keep terror polices
Source: AP

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney says it would be a big mistake for the new administration to scrap current terrorist-fighting policies designed to prevent future attacks on the U.S.

In an interview with CBS Radio's Mark Knoller, Cheney advises President-elect Barack Obama to "proceed very cautiously" before making any policy changes. He also says Obama shouldn't change policies just because he campaigned against them.

Obama has criticized practices that he says amount to torturing detainees and has promised to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

...

Cheney also denied he was pulling the strings of the Bush presidency from behind the scenes. He says "There was never any question about who was in charge. It was George Bush."

1. Yeah, 'dick' would love that.
It would make Obama just as guilty as he is.

I wonder if 'dick' is getting just a little bit nervous.

2. We can only hope. He's probably got a whole raft of new prescriptions...
to get him through the difficult transition.

4. Someone needs to take Dick Cheney...
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 11:01 AM by TwoSparkles
...by his giant shirt collar and tell him to STFU.

Look at this piece of shit...trying to influence policy--and BULLY Obama--into continuing the murderous, torturous,
sociopathic policies of this failed, abomination of an administration.

These criminals have absolutely NO SHAME.

Who is Dick Cheney to give "advice."? Number one...this is a complete ass who has a popularity rating of 10 percent. NO ONE
believes he has any clout. He's hated. Yet, he feels compelled to get the message out to Obama, that Obama had better continue
with the torture, the illegal wiretaps and the dismantling of our democracy?

Number two--Cheney giving advice on how to run a country is like Madoff giving investment advice. Again, does this criminal
have ANY shame or any idea that he's a complete failure in the eyes of EVERYONE in this country?

Cheney should be preparing to slink into a hole, and hide from his utter failures and disastrous legacy as the worst vice president
ever.

Instead, he's offering advice. Unsolicited advice.

I give up. These people have absolutely no sense of humanity. They really are reptiles--who lack any sort of conscience.

6. Obama is appointing one of Bush-Cheney's rendition/torture defenders, Brennan
I am beginning to think that the new administration will do something splashy, like close Guantanamo, but behind the scenes much people fought against will continue.

Cheney and Bush act as if they know they will never be called to account.

Keep the gulags and black sites. Rotate the entire Bush Administration and Cabinet through them, then ask what Cheney thinks !

12. Yeah. He could blanket wiretap all the corporate and personal phones and computers
of arms manufacturing war profiteers, oil company owners and executives, high rollers in banking and finance, RW think tanks such as the AEI, media conglomerates, all former Bu*h administration officials (including Bu*h and Cheney), Blackwater and Halliburton, and all other major players in the global economy that have profited enormously at the expense of other people's misfortunes.

He could keep them under constant physical surveillance as well.

The terrorists listed above have all but destroyed the US. Collectively, and by comparison in terms of the bloodshed and destruction they have caused, they make al Qaeda and Hamas look like a splinter group of the Campfire Girls.
