I did not think the judges in SF would oppose upholding the state constitution's demand for equal protection. More weddings it will be!

The conservative group said California voters in 2000 expressly limited marriages recognized in the state to unions between a man and a woman
I also remember the California voters expressly elected Davis as their governor, but i'm sure this same conservative group was all for the overturning the will of the people during that fiasco.

Arizona can sue San Francisco for an injunction against what they are doing. How can they possibly show irreparable harm? They don't even live in the state!

4. They are afraid married heteros in Arizona are going to run off to S.F. |
|
and marry their same-sex lovers, thus destroying marriage as we know it in Arizona. Only explanation that I can think of.

I do sometimes worry that this could be a dangerous issue for us during one of the most important elections of our time. But on the other hand, it's about fucking time we got out of the intellectual realm and forced the courts to consider why heteros get special rights (i'm hetero btw). I had heard mixed things about Gavin Newsome during that election. I have to give it up to him, though, for having the guts and creativity to take the Mass. debate a step further, putting this in the international spotlight. No matter the outcome, it'll be tough to put the genie back in the bottle now. Cheers!
