Scientists Ask: What Would Darwin Do?
Source: Fox News

The contemporary controversy over teaching evolution in some parts of the United States and in a handful of other nations would shock Darwin, Beard said.

"I think he was someone who had enough confidence in the power of progress that is inherent in the human mind that he would have assumed that we would be past this by now," Beard said. "In most parts of the world we are. It's mainly us here in America and, oddly enough, people in the Muslim world, who have problems with Darwinian evolution. I think he would be surprised and disappointed that society, frankly, has not made more progress in absorbing the power and, in many ways, the beauty of his theory."

But Darwin would be very pleased to find that there is no controversy in science today about whether evolution occurred, despite continual attempts by creationists to manufacture one, said science historian Richard Milner.

There must be a lot of Fox News fans right now who are very uncomfortable and disappointed with their good old dependable right-wing biased news source.

2. The biggest difference is...
The fundie Muslims readily acknowledge their similarities to fundie christians, see it as a good thing, and wish to "join forces" (with the fundie muslims in charge, of course). The fundie Christians on the other hand, pretty much just want to kill everyone. So I guess really, the ultimate difference is that only one group actually believes that every Jew on earth needs to be massacred along with 1/3 of all life on the planet, in order for god to do his thing... and it ain't the Muslim crazies buying that.

Either way, it's always rather amusing to hear people so absorbed in self-worship try to tell other people about god, isn't it?

3. Not as many as I'd like, but even in the US they have quite a lot less power...
...to do as they'd like. Christian fundamentalism is going out of fashion.
Muslim extremism is just getting started.
