Lawyers to Sue Blair Over War

"Top lawyers from Greece are travelling to the International Criminal Court in The Hague on Monday to file a lawsuit against senior UK officials.

They will accuse the prime minister and other senior members of the government and military of breaching international law by attacking Iraq.

The Athens Bar Association (ABA) believes it has strong evidence and is seeking the indictment of Mr Blair. "

4. I was thinking along the SAME lines today! Citizens should sue bushco

Ex: Mary Smith vs. Bush Jr., Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, Wolfowitz, etc.

Basis of suit: Misappropriation of taxpayer funds, lying to start a war, lying to my senators and congressman, war crimes, disenfranching MILLIONS of americans, causing schools and services to be cut in our individual states; for creating a shadow govt; violation of civil rights and shredding the constitution. (basically, just list all the crimes).

Remedy Sought: Sue for specific performance: if they have to clear their own bank accounts and go back and get the corporate and wealthy distinguished citizens' bank accounts to get all that money back and return ALL the money back to the treasury; step down; open up ALL federal records -- ALL of them;

Basically......write up one helluva lawsuit and file it individually in federal court.

Imagine if 500,000 spent the $106 court filing fee and filed such a lawsuit......ACROSS the land!!

Hell, the repukes go running to the courts all the time, why can't I, as a citizen, do the same thing? All of us should do that. Talk about a peaceful protest and a way to communicate to Bushco, the republicans, our own dems and the world that WE SAY NO MORE!!!!!

Remember the film Z about the repressive junta that ruled Greece back in the sixties -- my fantasy is that this Bush nightmare will end like that film -- with Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Wolfie, etc. and all the bad guys being arrested and brought to 'justice'.

6. Blair faces war crimes allegation

JUST as Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, thought his problems could not get any worse, it was revealed yesterday that a group of Greek lawyers are planning to indict a string of senior government ministers for war crimes.

The lawyers, from the Athens Bar Council, are filing a lawsuit at the International Criminal Court (ICC), in The Hague, claiming they have "strong evidence" Mr Blair breached international law by attacking Iraq.

The lawsuit also accuses Mr Blair of more than 20 war crimes, including the bombing of residential areas in Iraq, killing innocent civilians and depriving the population of drinking water. Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary, and Geoff Hoon, the Defence Secretary, are also named in the writ.
