Reid Spokesman: Coleman Doesn't Get Another Election
By Eric Kleefeld - March 4, 2009, 11:49AM

Harry Reid's office is now indicating its displeasure and opposition to Norm Coleman's new attempt to potentially throw out the whole election result in Minnesota.

Said Reid spokesman Jim Manley, in an e-mail to TPM: "Just because Mr. Coleman is not happy with the results of the election/recount doesn't mean he gets to schedule another one."

7. Okay, I call it. Franken wins!
And as I am the highest authority I recognize, that's it. Over and done with. Senator Franken, please be seated.

8. Coleman can demand whatever he likes--it doesn't mean a hill of beans to the judges.
Once this judicial process is over and this 3 judge panel declares Franken the winner, then Pawlenty will be pressured to certify him and the SOS will as well and then Coleman can appeal for as long as he can.

11. Exactly.
Reid can also make any claim he wants but since he's the Senator from Nevada, his opinion isn't going to hold much influence with the Judges in Minnesota.

I seriously doubt the Judges would grant a new election. At some point, you have to be able to sort through the mess and declare an end to the bickering. This delay has not been fair to the voters of Minnesota who are being denied representation.

12. No guarantee another election would not present exactly the same problems. Don't think the
judges are going to let the people of Minnesota go with one Senator any longer than they have to.
