it is always unannounced? Bush visits on Thanksgiving unannounced. Wolfowitz visits unannounced. Rumsfield visits unannounced.

I guess they don't want to drown in a sea of flowers that would be thrown at them if they announce ahead of time their arrival dates.

Yesterday, Rumsfeld says he's going on an unscheduled trip to Jordan, then Baghdad airport gets mortared last night -- it was kind of obvious where he was actually going.
