5. I went to UVM
Edited on Sun Mar-29-09 02:27 AM by Tab
I don't even remember the last time UVM was in the news for sports.

Vermont, as a rule, doesn't have a lot of teams. Football, basketball, baseball, most of that is relegated to Boston, and since we're so close to Montreal, Montreal gets the hockey news. Skiing is probably the big thing, but I don't recall that as an area "team" sport.

But it's nice to see VT in the news. I had to think twice when I saw the "Catamounts" title. The back of my brain was going "do they mean UVM?" And the front of my brain was saying "are you nuts?".

And on edit, "Catamounts" isn't even in the title, which is probably testament to going to UVM in the early 80s, when the drinking age was 18, we had 70 keg parties every weekend, and grew pot in the public dorm corridor windowsills (all of which is true). Aaaah, Redstone.

No more, though.

Still, nice to see them listed.

6. Vermont' s in the sports news for snow boarding pretty regularly
Hannah Teeter, etc. But the last time UVM was in the national sports news was 3 or 4 years ago when UVM upset Syracuse.
