Former Vice President Cheney to publish memoir: report

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has signed a publishing deal for about $2 million to write a memoir of his life in politics, The New York Times reported on Tuesday.

The book will be published in the spring of 2011 by Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, where Mary Matalin, a former close aide to Cheney is editor in chief, the newspaper said. Simon & Schuster is a unit of CBS Corp.

Cheney, who has appeared widely in television interviews in recent months and assumed the role of spokesman for a conservative element in the Republican Party, had been looking for a publisher for about two months, the Times said.

He will also write about his private-sector experience, including a period as chief executive of Halliburton Co, the oil fields services provider that was one of the largest contractors in Iraq after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

Cheney didn't seem to care about Sanctions on Iran when he did business with them during the eighties and ninties. IMO he is as unAmerican as anybody I have ever heard of including Benedict Arnold. Cheney is not a good man in any sense of the word.
