Captain Removed After Slamming Afghan War

4:56pm UK, Friday August 14, 2009
A British Army captain who anonymously wrote a scathing attack about the Afghan war has been removed from his unit, Sky News understands.

The unnamed officer wrote the emotive article in Monday's Independent newspaper.

"My motivation is simple" he said.

"Writing this helps vent off some of the frustration at what is happening out here in Afghanistan to those serving in the British Army, where death and serious injury are sickeningly common occurrences."

The officer, who has been in the Army for eight years, is likely to be brought back from Afghanistan and faces disciplinary action and a possible court martial.

United for PEACE & Justice, or Veterans for PEACE, for upcoming events. I'd also suggest American Friends Service Committee(Quakers)who also have actions for PEACE. There ARE events, PEACE-full protests scheduled, & on-going..they just aren't on the teevee.
If You can't get to a big event, maybe Create 1 in Your town, with YOUR Friends.

One of MY personal heroes is a Friend, 1 angry, upset little Woman, a Military Mom, who before anyOne opposed the invasion, marched up & down a stretch of road in her small town, holding her protest sign high..for HOURS. Alone,in so many ways, she "had to do something" & she sure did.

6. He spoke out against the way the war is being run and now he pays the
price. He took one for the team because those are the rules in the military. K & R!

7. This is sounding familiar. How many good military people did we lose?
Because they had the gall to question Bush's wars? I hope this doesn't start happening again here.
