Journalist Novak Poking Fun at CIA Leak
In the most unusual turn of this year's satirical script, syndicated columnist Robert Novak - who sparked a federal investigation by printing the name of an undercover CIA officer - was taking the stage as that CIA officer's disgruntled husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson.

2. Criminal
Novak should be up on criminal charges. He is a dispicable person who should be doing some prison time.

25. I guess the Repugs and the right-wing think it's funny
Edited on Sun Mar-07-04 04:23 AM by eablair3
I guess they are spoofing and making jokes out of a crime and endangerment of CIA agnets' lives and the ensuing investigation. Such senses of humor.

4. Should go over well with the agents, prosecutors and grand jury
This is on par with Robert Chambers twisting off of the Barbie Doll head, mocking his murder of Jennifer Levin. Mr. Chambers didn't see the light of day for 15 years (and not a day earlier) after that "satirical performance."

Novak is either senile or stupid.

6. Strange to say the least!
I guess the Washington insiders certainly know
how to diminish and mock the problems of the
nation.

"Oh well, what the hell....the people
are hurting, lets take the night off and make
fun of it all."

7. Novak dressed up as Wilson? and singing about outing a CIA spy?
"Dressed as Wilson in top hat and cutaway coat, Novak sings of himself: ``Novak had a secret source ... so he outed a girl spy the way princes of darkness do. ... Now John Ashcroft asks Bob who and how, could be headed to the old hoosegow.''"

Novak was dressed up as Wilson? and singing that?

the "prince of darkness"?

I don't see the humour in this. He outed a CIA agent, putting her and many others at risk of their lives, ... and now he is poking fun at it? Maybe you had to be there.

Anybody have the quote of Bush handy about finding the "senior administration official"? Bush said something like "there are a lot of senior administration officials, .. I don't know if we'll ever find out." anyone have the exact quote on that by W?

9. Years ago on Crossfire,
Mike Kinsley said to Novak, "Bob, sneering is not an argument." Novak just laughed.

He is the most unctuous, repulsive individual on TV...except for maybe Tucker Carlson...or Ann Coulter...or Hannity...I could go on and on and on.

21. Tucker will occasionally say something funny
And he's the one who revealed the story about Bush laughing over executing that one woman. He's not even close to being as disgusting as Novak.

8. I don't know if I believe ANY of that.
Did he mean Hillary showed up with Rudy and Dick Cheney? Was I reading that right?

And Novak dressed as Wilson and sang?

I know the English have a strange sense of humor at times, but that guy sounded like he was tripping. It sounds like a scene out of 'Alice in Wonderland'.

Or if the Washington insiders pal around like that, we are in worse trouble than I thought! Bill should talk to Hillary about the company she keeps-Dick Cheney! Whaaaat?!

I grok the part about Nader being a skunk (haha), but the rest of it is beyond me.

13. He's a malevolent, insolent,
prejudiced, obnoxious, narrow-focused, slobbering, fool, who, I might add, once appeared on a Capitol Gang panel missing one of his front crowns, showing the gold post core in his central incisor. The cameraman kept a tight shot on him. Probably got him fired, but sure cheered me up on a Saturday night!

23. SOB should be in jail

Rightwingers pushed hard for IIPA in the early 80's, claiming that it was needed to protect agents from leftist journalists.

American Prospect 12 Feb 04
Plame Gate. Did Robert Novak willfully disregard warnings that his column would endanger Valerie Plame? Our sources say "yes."

Two government officials have told the FBI that conservative columnist Robert Novak was asked specifically not to publish the name of undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame in his now-famous July 14 newspaper column. The two officials told investigators they warned Novak that by naming Plame he might potentially jeopardize her ability to engage in covert work, stymie ongoing intelligence operations, and jeopardize sensitive overseas sources.

SEC. 601. <50 U.S.C. 421> (c) Whoever, in the course of a pattern of activities intended to identify and expose covert agents and with reason to believe that such activities would impair or impede the foreign intelligence activities of the United States, discloses any information that identifies an individual as a covert agent to any individual not authorized to receive classified information, knowing that the information disclosed so identifies such individual and that the United States is taking affirmative measures to conceal such individual’s classified intelligence relationship to the United States, shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

26. Not in his best interest.
This is an anxious, obnoxious man, going down. He will grab at anything on the way down. He is to be pitied and to feel sorry for. Do you want to go where he and his friends may be going in an afterlife, if there is one?

Peace is the only way for us all.

Plain and simple.

Military/Industrail Complex, you are fired.

We have, as a people of this planet, no need for your mutual
destruction policies from this date forward.

Rise up, citizens, Patriots, Americans, Christians,
make your voices be heard!

LOUD AND CLEAR!
