Indian army chief to visit US
NEW DELHI, March 6: India and the United States will discuss ways to bolster their defence ties during a trip next week by India's army chief to the US , an army spokesman said on Saturday.

General Nirmal Chandra Vij is expected to meet the vice- chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace, and US Army Chief Gen Peter Schoomaker, during his visit March 11-12, a defence ministry official said.

New Delhi is keen to get observer status with the US Central Command, which oversees US operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Gulf and Central Asia, he said.

3. No, but we are playing the Indians and the Pakistanis
off against each other, which is fine by me. The Pakistanis want to help us, so we'll protect them from the Indians, and vice-versa. The question is why aren't we doing more of this? Pakistan just got caught with their pants down, selling nuclear technology to absolutely anybody. We let them go with a stern warning - we didn't get intelligence, nobody even went to jail. And we still haven't been allowed to search the Tribal Regions for Bin Laden.

If I were in the Administration, I'd be screaming holy hell. Why isn't Bush?

5. Some posts have suggested
that Dubya is being blackmailed by Pakistan. IOW we'll let them get away with a lot in return for their cooperation or complicity in helping us get Bin Laden. My comment was based on some of those posts. Maybe Dubya is tired of being blackmailed.

4. Probably going to sell them some
weapons, then we will sell Pakistan more weapons and the circle goes on
Iraq/Iran, Iran/Iraq, etc.
