Montana attorney general to investigate (American Police Force)
Source: Billings Gazette

HELENA - Montana's attorney general launched an investigation Thursday into American Police Force, the California company headed by a Serbian national with a long criminal history that has seeks to run an empty, 464-bed jail in Hardin.

Bullock sent a nine-page demand letter late this afternoon to Becky Shay, the spokeswoman for APF and the company's only Montana employee.

According to the document, Bullock is launching the civil investigation into APF over concerns that the company might be violating the Montana Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

Bullock also sent a letter Thursday to Gary Arneson and Al Peterson, leaders of the Two Rivers Authority, the economic development arm of the city of Hardin that built the Two Rivers Detention Facility and announced a 10-year, multimillion-dollar contract with APF to run the jail.

17. That would be Jerry Brown.
We'll see. He just announced he's running for Guv in 2010. (Disclaimer: I am not a fan.)

19. I've known AG Bullock for a few years now
(and coached his little girl's soccer team). He's a good guy and a good attorney. He's also a politician. My gut says he'll run this down, no problem. Montanans as a rule are suspicious of out-of-staters waltzing in and trying to run things. The city commission in Hardin is pretty corrupt, so shining a spotlight on them wouldn't hurt....

11. Right wing swing
A few of the conservative people/sites are framing this as Obama's privatization police force. Although logic suggests one would assume that any mercenary types are right wing a-holes. Oh, wait, logic isn't used by those freaks.

18. Not really
Hilton is a con artist who snagged snippets of text from various military/security websites in order to fill his webpages with copy. He used a lot of stock photos and scans from tough-guy books as well.
