(Rep. Mike) Honda delivering garlic to (Rep. John) Boehner after 'milkshake' joke
Source: The Hill

Rep. Mike Honda's (D-Calif.) will be delivering House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) some of his district's most famous products Friday in response to some rhetoric yesterday from the GOP leader.

After Boehner compared healthcare reform's popularity to a "garlic milkshake," Honda will take some garlic from a town in his district to the top House Republican.

"I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who is in favor of the public option,” Boehner specifically said yesterday. "This is about as unpopular as a garlic milkshake."

Honda will deliver garlic from Gilroy, Calif. to the minority leader's office this morning at 11:00 a.m., and with it, a limerick about the public option. Gilroy, according to Honda's office, is the "garlic capital" of the United States.

“Thanks. We like garlic," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said of the impending delivery. "The point the Leader made yesterday was simply that garlic milkshakes aren’t popular, like the Democrats’ government takeover of health care."

3. You nailed it.
I've been having trouble deciding which one of the Repukes is the most reprehensible, but I have to say that Boehner has to be in the top two.

He's the one that makes me change the channel the quickest though. He is one smug bastard.

8. When I saw Boehner proclaim that he'd yet to hear from
someone who wanted a public option, I about gagged on my garlic milkshake! I looked at the wife and said: "That's what happens when your audiences are pre-screened for you - or you only wade into bastions of like thinking. What ass-hats Bean-brain and his conspirators are!

10. Honda is a jerk
Honda's district (San Jose and environs -- Silicon Valley) has been nearly destroyed by unemployment this year. Around 110,000 well-paid, productive, skilled, professional workers have been laid off in the last twelve months -- it's worse than Detroit. Honda hasn't noticed. Instead, he screws around with this stupid "garlic" ploy. We need a real representative here; not a grandstanding clown.

Mike Honda doesn't do anything for us. He isn't just a blue-dog or merely on the take: He seems to be oblivious to what his job really is. Worse: He seems to believe that it isn't his job to speak up for his constituents, to lobby for the interests of his District, or to sponsor legislation that would solve our problems here.

Honda is a look at things to come for the Democratic Party in Congress: He's an oblivious functionary who won't see his demise coming, when some local Republican CEO finally decides to just buy his seat. There are too many Democrats like this in our Congress.

sc

PS: Honda isn't alone. Ana Eschoo and Zoe Lofgren has been just about as useless when it comes to helping their nearby Bay Area districts. These are nearsighted bureaucrats that give the Democratic Party a bad name among independents and Progressives.

As it happens, my new job here involves legislative lobbying. I'll make up my own mind, thank you very much.

11. 12 Step Program for Boehner
To go something like this, "My name is John Boehner, I am a idiot that consumes too much alcohol." Alcohol limits my ability to think and makes me lie all the time. I don't care about people dying.

Stuff the garlic down his throat and let him vomit. :puke:

18. The only problem with that is I saw Dr. Oz and he said that garlic is one of the best
things to improve your health. Maybe if we can get some of Delay's leftover bug spray and "flavor the garlic"...........just thinking out loud.

14. He doesn't know anyone who favors the public option, eh?
Maybe we ought to form a monster flash mob and chase him down K street. That orange ghostly figure dashing behind him is his spray on tan trying to catch up.

17. I actually see this as a good way to keep light on Boehner's statement
It would be almost obvious to anyone that Boehner is lying. Using the garlic ploy is an effective way to ridicule orange boy and keep some press on his dishonesty.
