Steele 'not really' concerned about declining GOP support
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele on Tuesday brushed off a new poll that indicates just 20 percent of the American public are willing to call themselves Republicans.

Questioned if whether he's concerned about the new Washington Post/ABC News poll, Steele responded: "Not really."

"What I'm concerned about is how they vote," he said on CNN's "The Situation Room." Steele insisted that "at end of the day you can call yourself whatever you want" - as long voters ultimately choose candidates who favor small government, business-friendly policies.

"That's at the end of the day where I'm focused as a party chairman," he continued. "On delivering candidates and delivering a message that empowers people and lisfts them up, not puts the government in front of them as the president and Democrats in congress are doing now."

3. The problem for the GOP being...
They aren't the party of small government, they aren't conservative, they aren't any of the things that they once were. That is how they will lose votes. Eventually people "get" that a government that can't keep it's eyes off your sex, your sheets, your reproduction, isn't small.

4. Not so fast. He has a point, even if he is a prick...
There are those liberatarians who believe themselves invincible who want to believe the Republican mantra about free trade and capitalism. So don't be so sure Steele is wrong. He may not know he's wrong, but he may NOT be wrong.

Let's not get complacent. We are going to have to fight like hell to get our PO and then some! This ain't easy...

6. "small government, business-friendly policies"
Yeah, asshole.

WE FUCKING TRIED THAT FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS PLUS AND WHERE EXACTLY DID THAT GET US!!!!!

Where we are at right now, with a Democratic President fervently trying to clean up the mess so we can try that shit all over again.

With all due respect Mr. Steele, BLOW ME.

9. See, that's the thing!
They've ruled the roost for so long, and things have gone bad for so long. Why do these idiots want to keep pushing failed policies? More importantly, who are the idiots who actually vote for more failed policies?

7. That Much Is Obvious
Mr. Steele seems to think he's been chosen to go mano a mano with his nemesis Obama, simply on the basis of race. God knows, they have nothing else in common, especially if Steele believes Obama isn't a legal citizen and duly elected president.

Why do I get the picture of Steele on his date's front step waiting for her to come out for his goodnight kiss
2 hours after she closed the door and turned off the lights?
