Connecticut Democrat calls for Joe Lieberman recall
Source: Politico

A House Democrat from Connecticut said Tuesday that Sen. Joe Lieberman should be recalled from office over his opposition to the Senate health care bill.

"No individual should hold health care hostage, including Joe Lieberman, and I'll say it flat out, I think he ought to be recalled," Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) told POLITICO.

Connecticut has no recall law for state officials, and the Constitution does not authorize states to recall members of Congress since each house has the authority to police its own members.

1. "Connecticut has no recall law for state officials & the Constitution does not authorize states...
...to recall members of Congress since each house has the authority to police its own members."

But other than THAT, Joe better look out!

5. No...but they can vote for a recall bill. And make Joe Liberman
and example of what the pubic can do.

6. How would passing an unconstitutional law make an example of Lieberman?

10. I don't think they can. The 17th amendment to the COTUS says the people of a state
shall elect a Senator for six years. Sadly, the six years are not up yet.

3. It's very frustrating when elected Democratic lawmakers
don't seem to understand the Constitution. Ms. DeLauro should shut up if she doesn't know that Senators cannot be recalled. Really. Leave the stupid talk to the Republicans.

14. Can't be impeached
just removed from office. But that requires 2/3 vote of the senate, meaning republican's would have to support it.... I don't see that happening.

15. Say No To Joe!

I, too, have had enough of Joe Lieberman. I'm not from Connecticut, but Lieberman's obstructionism on Health Care Reform is directly impacting my health here in Florida.

I don't mean to link-and-run, as I'm a longtime lurker but don't post too often, but today I put together a 1 minute TV spot in support of https://pol.moveon.org/donate/lieberman.html">MoveOn's campaign to unseat Lieberman.

My video is called "http://gallery.me.com/dp.design#100216">Say No To Joe!." QuickTime is required; if you don't have it, you can also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HS_yuU_ZzSc&feature=youtube_gdata">watch the video on YouTube.

I hope everyone contributes what they can to help MoveOn flush Lieberman down the biohazard toilet. Connecticut deserves better than him, and the Senate needs better than him. Aetna should not have its own senator.
