Logan Airport Closed Briefly-Now Re-opened
Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 11:20 AM by No Elephants
Source: WHDH Television News Bulletin

No online source yet.

Read more: none yet.

The news bulletin gave no further info, beyond stating they would continue to make calls to try to learn more.

Another bulletin: A Delta connection flight ended up on the wrong runway. Take off was aborted and the plane evacuated. Reporter still does not know why. Per the video feed, planes seem to be landing, but the video may not be up to the minute. Nothing is on the Logan Airport website yet.

Okay: The airport is now open again. It was closed only 20 or 30 minutes. They are now saying it may be "a cold weather incident" re: de-icing.

I changed the headline to reflect that.

The event may have panicked people (including moi) because ID's of at least 16 Logan TSA workers had been reported stolen only a few days ago.

1. Great.
Living in this country is just so freaking exciting lately. Thanks, GWB, for fucking everything up so badly that we can't begin to fix it.

4. Are we the same country that won its independence in 1776?
We are just scared shitless at everything. Also shows you how embedded the beliefs in this so-called "Christian Nation" are!

13. I understand. No matter what, our whole response to things
post 911 has been utterly ridiculous, overreative, over the top and ineffectual. And the madness continues unabated.

5. Here's more info ...

Logan Airport has been closed after a Delta Connection jet aborted its takeoff Friday morning because smoke was reported inside the plane.

Airport spokesman Phil Orlandela told WBZ the plane remained on the runway and all of the passengers were evacuated safely.

Orlandela did not know where the plane was heading or what caused the smoke.

The airport was shut down because the plane is still on the runway.

Where in those reports does it say "potential terrorism threat"?

11. Key word: "Major". According to WHDH, Logan re-opened aftter being closed only 20 to 30 minutes.
Since Boston is having a bit of light snow right now, that may be small potatoes.
