(Rep. Alan) Grayson snares almost $500K in massive fundraiser
Source: orlando sentinel

WASHINGTON — For some folks, a productive weekend means cleaning out the garage.

For politicians, a productive weekend usually means raising money for a re-election. What U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson did on Saturday, however, is the housework equivalent of building an entirely new wing — complete with carpeting and an HD TV.

The Orlando Democrat reported raising $470,050 in a one-day “money-bomb” from more than 15,000 contributors, including Democratic leaders Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Anthony Weiner.

In a release, the freshman lawmaker gave all sorts of reasons for the success, including donors responding to recent attacks by former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

“Some of you gave because Sarah Palin came to my district a week ago, and ordered her robot army to take me out. Like she was shooting a moose from a helicopter,” notes the release.

1. He did well on Malloy's show last week...
Sounded really sincere, smart and honest. We could use a few hundred more like him in Congress.

3. No, the money bomb is not about Palin. It's Grayson's bill for the public option and his courage
Other Dems, take note.

Perhaps those who supported Grayson should write the Sentinel and tell them this. I mean, the list in the brief article of Dem politicians who supported him tells the story. Look at who they are.

"Dear Orlando Sentinel,

I do not care what Sarah Palin has to say. I gave to Rep Grayson because of HR4789... the "Medicare for all" bill. We need a rep who will stand up with courage to do what is right for the American People."

7. This is good !
It will be noticed by representatives on both sides of the aisle and will raise a lot of eyebrows because it occurs as a clear message. If Grayson again carries his heavily Republican Florida district in November it will bring about a radical change in the performance of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

and look for alternatives to Blue Dog/DLC/Conservatives -- and certainly NOT

give them or the party any money!!
