Gov. Bush fills another post with another lobbyist
http://www.sptimes.com/2004/03/21/State/Gov_Bush_fills_anothe.shtml

St. Petersburg Times, 3/21/04

GOV. JEB BUSH HAS once again turned to a prominent lobbyist to fill an appointment: Paul Bradshaw, 45, president of Southern Strategy Group, to the board of the Northwest Florida Water Management District.

Bradshaw, a lawyer and former policy adviser to Bush, is married to the governor's former chief of staff. He replaces J. Russell Price for a four-year term.

Other lobbyists appointed by Bush (most have been major fundraisers for the governor and the state GOP) include Rodney Barreto and Brian Yablonski to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; David Rancourt, Richard Heffley and Courtney Cunningham to the Florida Elections Commission; former Tampa Sen. John Grant to the Florida Commission on Ethics; Marty Fiorentino to the Jacksonville Port Authority; Steve Uhlfelder and Miguel DeGrandy to the Board of Governors of state universities; former House Speaker John Thrasher to the Florida State University Board of Trustees, and Michael Harrell to the High Speed Rail Commission.

Believe it or not, there are still plenty of lobbyists left without gubernatorial appointments.

1. Well, there goes an increase of flooding problems in the N/E.
That's what usually happens when you put a pro-business crony in a water management position. You get flooding problems down the road as developments are allowed to be built without the proper regulation.

2. Thank god, it wasn't the northeast
...WMD is what I was thinking. Maybe this appointment will help out St. Joe shareholders. That's a major DuPont holding I believe.
