CNNLINDEN, Tenn. --
A Tennessee woman watched as floodwaters swept away her husband and daughter earlier this week.
Sherry Qualls called her husband a hero for trying to save his children.
Bob Qualls moved his son to higher ground Sunday morning after the creek in front of their home spilled its banks and began rising quickly. It rose to chest-deep waters in just minutes, Sherry Qualls said.
Her husband then tried to rescue their 15-year-old daughter, Kylie, who was clinging to a tree to avoid the rushing water.
That was the last time Sherry Qualls said she saw either of them alive.
"From his neck up he was staring at me ... he didn't say nothing, just staring at me ... she was screaming for her daddy to help her, and then by the time the rescue squad got here I didn't see them no more," she said. "I didn't see them float away."
Bob Qualls' body was found Tuesday a mile down stream. Kylie's body was found in a field across the road from where her father's body came to rest, rescuers said.

Kenny Chesney to Anderson Cooper: 'We need the world's help right now'
http://blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/2010/05/06/kenny-chesney-to-anderson-cooper-we-need-the-worlds-help-right-now/Kenny Chesney talked with CNN host Anderson Cooper Wednesday night about the flood damage at his own home — it's extensive, Chesney shared, with some five feet of water covering the road leading to his house — and about the effects of the flood on many of his fellow Tennesseans.
"I lost a lot," Chesney told Cooper, "but not near as much as a lot of people. Yes, I've been affected by this tragedy but there are so many people in Nashville that are really hurting. The things I lost i can replace, thank God, but there have been people that have lost their lives and their livelihood."
Cooper acknowledged the lack of widespread national media coverage of the flood here, and talked about his trip to Nashville today (May 6) for his AC360° show. That show airs on CNN at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. CST.
