Final group of Canadian soldiers heads to Haiti
CTV.ca News Staff

The final deployment of Canadian soldiers from CFB Gagetown is leaving for Haiti this morning. About 120 troops will travel from New Brunswick to join others already in place for Operation Halo.

Elements of the theatre activation team from Kingston, Ont., will also leave Monday, bringing the number of Canadian ground troops in Port-au-Prince to slightly over 450 soldiers.

Soldiers from the 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment said good-bye to their spouses and children this morning, and boarded an Airbus to begin the 90-day stabilization force mission.
