Savage attack allegedly by men in Iraqi military uniforms, cleric’s severed head hung on an electrical pole in his village

Gunmen wearing Iraqi military uniforms beheaded an imam who had recently criticized al-Qaeda and hung his head on an electrical pole in his village in Iraq’s northern Diyala province on Monday, police said.

Police said the attackers killed Sheikh Abdullah Shakoor al-Salhy, the imam of Saadiya village, about 150 km northeast of Baghdad, police said.

“Gunmen wearing military uniforms raided our house early this morning to search it. They held us in a room and asked my father to show them the other rooms of the house,” Muhammed Adulla, the cleric’s son, said. Abdulla said the family did not realize his father had been killed until the four attackers left the house.

Mr. Salhy had criticized al-Qaeda in a speech at the local mosque last Friday.

Freedom Fries, Against America if you don't support the Iraq war, Patriot Acts et al. I'm reminded of how the Republicans really are insane and are not just like us only on the other side. The "fiscal responsibility" is mind blowing. This very minute they're upset about how Obama spends money...

7. al Qaeda wasn't in Iraq before we invaded.....Bush, "So what?"
(snip)

Bush then turned to Iraq, and justified the war there by suggesting it had been al Qaeda’s home base. When Raddatz corrected him, Bush dismissively replied, “So what?“:

BUSH: One of the major theaters against al Qaeda turns out to have been Iraq. This is where al Qaeda said they were going to take their stand. This is where al Qaeda was hoping to take–

RADDATZ: But not until after the U.S. invaded.

BUSH: Yeah, that’s right. So what? The point is that al Qaeda said they’re going to take a stand. Well, first of all in the post-9/11 environment Saddam Hussein posed a threat. And then upon removal, al Qaeda decides to take a stand.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld & their whole evil gang beheaded that man.
