Deputies called to remove (Rand Paul) campaign workers

The Associated Press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- State and local officials say backers of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul have been removed by sheriff's deputies from an eastern Kentucky polling place after complaints that they were harassing voters.

Officials say Paul supporters were also asked to leave precincts in another county Tuesday while conducting exit polling.

Paul's campaign manager, David Adams, called the allegations "dubious," saying Democrats may have been behind the incidents.

Secretary of State spokesman Les Fugate said voters complained of harassment and electioneering by Paul supporters in Laurel County and exit polling in Jackson County. Secretary of State Trey Grayson is Paul's primary opponent on the ballot.

7. Since it is a republican primary
why would Democrats be behind calling the police on this disruptive workers. What in the hell difference does it make to the Democratic election if republicans fight among themselves. The more they do the merrier.

17. US Senate is state-wide
They are battling for the nomination of their respective parties to run for one of the two US Senate seats from Kentucky, Bunning retired. They should all four be on both the Louisville and Lexington ballots and throughout the state, but people can only vote in their party's primary here in Kentucky, so I had the choice of Mongiardo and Conway (go Conway!).

18. Huh?
Edited on Tue May-18-10 02:02 PM by Tx4obama
I am not exactly understanding your comment/question.

But here's some info:
1) Republicans Ron Paul and Trey Grayson are running for the U.S. Senate so they should be on everyone's ballot there in Kentucky.
2) Democrats Conway and Mongiardo are running for the U.S. Senate so they will also be on everyone's ballot in Kentucky.
3) Bunning is retiring so he shouldn't be on any of the ballots.
Senate races are state-wide - ALL districts.

I hope that helps.

p.s. Whoever wins in the primary today for the democrats and the republicans will face each other in the general election in November 2010. Then whoever wins in November will be the Senator for the state of Kentucky and will be off to Washington, DC.
